Refund Policy

Legal review required: bracketed placeholders such as [Jurisdiction] must be completed and this document approved by qualified counsel before publication.

1. Nature of the work

Bespoke type families are custom-made goods produced to a client specification. Drawing, interpolation, optical correction, and engineering labour cannot be resold or reallocated. Refund eligibility is therefore assessed by milestone rather than by whole engagement.

2. Deposits

  • A commission deposit reserves a drawing slot and is refundable in full if written cancellation is received before the typographic audit begins.
  • Once the audit or skeleton drawing has commenced, the deposit is non-refundable but is credited against delivered milestones.

3. Milestone payments

  • Accepted milestones are non-refundable.
  • For a milestone in progress at cancellation, we invoice work performed to date and refund the unearned balance within 30 days.
  • Third-party costs already committed — escrow fees, proof printing, licensing of test rendering environments — are not refundable.

4. Remediation before refund

Where a deliverable does not conform materially to the statement of work, we will correct it at no charge within a reasonable period. A refund of the affected milestone is considered only if remediation fails after two documented attempts.

5. Non-refundable items

  • Change orders already drawn and delivered.
  • Rush surcharges where the accelerated schedule was met.
  • Maintenance retainer periods already elapsed, and glyph additions already released.
  • Dissatisfaction with an aesthetic direction previously approved in writing.

6. Licence effect of a refund

Where a milestone is refunded, the corresponding licence or assignment terminates. The client must cease production use of the affected build and delete the associated source files, certifying deletion in writing.

7. How to request a refund

Send a written request to jobs@galavox.online identifying the statement of work, the milestone, the non-conformity, and the remediation attempts made. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 30 days.

8. Statutory rights and governing law

This policy does not limit any non-excludable statutory rights available to the client under the law of [Jurisdiction]. Disputes are governed by the law of [Jurisdiction] and, if unresolved after good-faith negotiation, referred to the forum stated in the commission agreement.
